Surry Hills Market
Shannon Reserve, Crown Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010
Surry Hills Market has been running since 1981 and is one of Sydney’s longest-running community markets. On the first Saturday of the month, Shannon Reserve on Crown Street fills with more than 60 stalls specialising in handmade, second-hand and recycled goods, in keeping with the spirit its founders intended. It’s a great place to hunt for pre-loved clothes, vintage bits and one-off pieces from local makers, and it is run by the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre, so your visit supports a local community organisation.
Shannon Reserve is on Crown Street in the middle of Surry Hills. The Surry Hills light rail stop is a few hundred metres away, and Central Station is under a kilometre’s walk. Crown Street has plenty of cafés for a coffee before or after you browse.
